Yasin
Shot at 19, Still Standing
Yasin was a 19 year old business administration student at Algonquin College with his whole life ahead of him when he was shot in the neck as a bystander in Ottawa. The bullet caused a C5/C6 incomplete spinal cord injury. After being told he would never walk again, Yasin decided to prove those who doubted him wrong through relentless work. Only 10 months removed from the shooting, Yasin is now walking with a walker and NO additional support.

Gavin
The Road to Walking Again
Gavin was shot through the chest in downtown Toronto, the bullet missing his heart by centimetres and striking his T9 vertebrae. Gavin was told he would never walk again, but with unwavering self-confidence he shows up every day to defy those odds. Gavin goes to bed every night knowing he did everything he could that day to defy the odds. He will never quit in his pursuit to prove those who doubted him wrong.

Nathan
A Fighter's Road to Recovery
Nathan was shot in the spine after breaking up a fight in downtown Toronto at 23 years old. He lost his spleen, left kidney and pancreas in the shooting. Paralyzed from his injuries, Nathan channels the lessons he learned as a life long boxer before his injuries to continue to defy the odds in his recovery. He is a true leader amongst our group of survivors and it shows in the way he shows up every day giving his recovery 100%.

Isaiah
A Father's Fight to Walk Again
Isaiah was shot nine times at a restaurant and left paralyzed from the waist down. A father of three, he completed all four rounds of stem cell therapy in Colombia and has since regained motor function, nerve sensation, bladder control, and is now walking with a walker and braces.
